About Peptira

Peptira is a research-use-only laboratory reagent supplier. We ship same day from our own warehouse and run a large monthly volume online store. We built our own operating system to run the company: storefront, warehouse, customer service, fulfillment, partners, growth and finance all live in one codebase we call Peptira OS. It was built in months by a small team working with AI coding agents under a strict process, it runs the business every hour of the day, and it now needs one person whose full-time job is to keep it moving.

The role

You are the person who runs the machine day to day. Peptira OS is a Turborepo monorepo: a Next.js customer storefront (peptira.com), a Next.js staff application (staff.peptira.com), shared packages, and a Supabase Postgres database with migrations, row-level security and scheduled jobs, deployed on Vercel. Most of the code is written by AI coding agents that work in defined lanes. Your job is to direct them, check them, and finish what they cannot.

Your day looks like this. Our four team leads (Warehouse, Fulfillment, Growth, Customer Service) file bug reports and requests in the OS's dev-ticket system. You read them, decide what matters, brief the right lane, merge the pull request when it is green, verify the change on production, and close the loop with the person who asked. When an agent gets something wrong, you catch it in review; when a fix is faster by hand, you make it yourself. The founder sets direction and rules; you turn them into shipped, verified changes and report back in short written updates with the numbers.

What the job is not

It is not a greenfield build; the OS exists and runs the business. It is not a pure ticket queue either; you will push back when a request is wrong and propose better ones. It is not a role for someone who needs a manager between them and the people using the software.

How we work

Everything ships through a pull request against the production branch. Every merged change is verified on production before its ticket closes. We measure ourselves on customer satisfaction, revenue, spend and return, and on how many minutes a warehouse worker saves.

Compensation

$80,000 to $100,000 per year, with a local equivalent for international candidates, depending on experience. Ninety-day contract-to-hire, then full-time with health coverage and equipment. Fully remote; you must overlap at least six hours a day with 9 AM to 6 PM Atlantic. If you turn out to be more senior than this role, we will know within the first month and pay accordingly.

How to apply

Send a short note (ten sentences or fewer) with: one production system you have kept running and what broke on your watch, one bug you found by reading someone else's code or a query, and a link to code or a written technical document that is yours. Add your salary expectation and your location. Finalists get a paid take-home that is exactly this job: a real ticket, this repository, and our agents; ship it and prove it on a staging copy.

Peptira sells products for laboratory research use only. Familiarity with the category is not required; comfort working inside strict compliance rules is.
